For the past two years, Canary Wharf has played host to the annual ‘London Ice Sculpting Festival’. The festival includes a competition, an ice sculpting masterclass and even face painting for children. Apparently the Ice blocks do not come from the Tesco cold storage, but from central Europe. The blocks are apparently deoxygenated and takes 3 weeks to create. Entry to the event is free and starts on from the Friday the 10th of January to the Sunday the 12th of January. London is normally plagued by horrible weather, but the past 2 days has been bright and sunny, not what you would want for an ice sculpting festival though.
